Lot of "Failed:"

Postby gz123 » Wed Apr 18, 2012 2:02 pm

I'm seeing a lot of:

Failed: Trackback No Link
Failed: Blog Comment No Forms
Failed: Image Comment Form Not Found

In my logs. Will NHS search better in the future or is the high fail rate just to make sure to get enough search results?

Generally the results from searching Google will give better results than Yahoo, you can change this in the Settings=>Application Settings, this may be enough. Generally though these periods tend to be short lived and more about the keywords having few results than anything that can be changed. NHSEO can only use the pages that are returned by the search engines and the footprints have been researched quite extensively before being added to the tool.

For best results you will want to be using your own custom comments per profile, this is the only way you will get a high percentage of comments accepted through the moderation system. The included comments file is still fine for finding auto-approve websites.

I am looking into adding some form of comment scraper to aid in adding custom comments.

A comment scraper is likely to be added but it is not a major priority right now. I am not sure exactly when it will be added at this time. Based on what people have seen with other tools that have comment scrapers a lot of users are seeing undesirable comments that are no more legible and often less legible than the bundled comments.

For best results custom spinnable comments should be written by the site owner as they should understand the niche better than anyone.
