This is likely just because you have 2 instances running at the same time such that both are trying to maintain a lock on the database file resulting in neither being able to correctly save any data to it.
There are safeguards in place to prevent double loading the software but if the second instance is loaded before the first has fully loaded itself then the checks are not performed.
Ultimately all you need to do is to make sure that you only have 1 instance loaded and it should work just fine (providing there is no anti virus software interfering with NHSEO). You can always see how many instances are open using the Task Manager in Windows, also the Log tab in NHSEO should indicate whether there have been any issues interacting with the database file.
Also you don't need to threaten a refund to get support, I will always answer people as quickly as possible, generally emails get answered slightly quicker as they are monitored more closely but all questions will get answered.
