Posting Blog Comments To Own Web Site?

Postby mccullek » Mon Jan 23, 2012 8:27 pm

I just got a comment posted on my web site from my no hands seo? In other words, the link is to the site it posted on. Is this common and is the software supposed to do this? I wouldn't think a back link from your own site to another page on your site would not be that beneficial? Can you clarify these questions please?

I wouldn't say it was normal but it is bound to happen occasionally. If you think about what is happening you are putting in keywords to search for blogs that are related to your niche(s) so if you are getting comments from yourself it means that your site is being listed for the keywords that you are wanting to target.

You can prevent posting to your own websites by entering your domains into the domain block list in the "Add and Block lists" tab in the Settings tab.

Thanks Jim, it's not a big issue, and I've only noticed the one and it's a small niche, so probably not a lot of different sites with that key word. I will just leave be and delete any posts that show up since I don't auto approve any of them anyway. I just wanted to make sure everything was OK really.
