Says it can't open because database is already in use

Postby Jonathan.Skeens » Sun Jan 22, 2012 9:28 pm

I updated to the latest version last night, and now NHSEO says it won't open because the database file is already in use. Since I know I shut it down after I updated, I don't see how that can be. I don't know what to do to fix this - I've even restarted my PC to see if that would fix it. Nothing. What can I do to fix this problem? I don't care if I have to reinstall it, I have copies of my keywords and anchor text in a separate directory. I just want NHSEO to work again - it was doing great, and this update seemed like it would be even better! What do I do?

Below are the three main reasons for anyone getting this error:
1) An existing instance of NHSEO is running, restarting your computer is the best way to truly check if this is the reason
2) Database file (DATABASE.db3) has been moved from the default folder (My Documents\No Hands SEO)
3) You applied the portable update to the installed version. If you are updating the installed version you should use the installer and not the portable update as that was designed to be an update for the portable version. Simply apply the correct update and it should work fine.
