Custom comments separation based on the platform type

Postby Sinfo » Sun Aug 11, 2013 3:41 am

Hi,

I've tried to post a new topic yesterday, but can not find it still in this forum. So, please allow me to re-post about the same topic. If the previous one has been uploaded, then just ignore this one.... :)

Please help to advise whether there is a way to separate a group of custom comments and allocate them for only specific type of the available platform, such as, Blog, Image Gallery, Guestbook and Forum, in NHSEO. Cause, I don't think we can use comments for Blog or Forum on those Image Gallery or Guestbook websites, and vice versa.

If that is possible, by doing this, then I hope to increase the chance of having our comments accepted by the webmaster of those specific sites. :D

Thanks for your kind attention.

Cheers,

The reason your last post isn't visible is because this forum uses moderation to prevent spam posts, it is not accepted (as I'm sure you have realised).

Currently there isn't a way to do this. I am not sure when it will be added but it is something that I will look into it as an option when setting up the profile. Really I think the main link types that have moderation are Blogs and Image Galleries and the majority of image galleries with moderation never accept comments which is why these others were never added as it could add needless setup time for users.

I'll have a look into it sometime next week though (this week is mostly already taken up with other feature requests).

Thanks for the suggestion.

Oh I forgot to mention, there is a dedicated section of the forum for feature suggestions. I will leave the post here for a few days so you can get a catch to find it then I will move it to there.

Thanks for your kind reply. Do hope to have this feature added sometime in future. :)

Just couple more question... When I took the "Output Footprint" from NHSEO, I found 2 lines there which almost the same, only different on 1 character, which is a "t" (shown below). Is that ok? I do hope so... :)

%20%22Powered%20by%20YaPig%22%20%22Add%20yout%20comment!%22
%20%22Powered%20by%20YaPig%22%20%22Add%20your%20comment!%22

And, is there a plan to add-up more footprints for the existing platform type?

Thanks again.

Cheers,

That is because lots of sites of that platform have that little spelling mistake on the pages so it is intentional. I am always looking at ways to improve the platforms but I have been through all of them once and am most of the way through the second check to ensure they are all working optimally and that includes checking the footprints.

I could add many more footprints to try and eek every last result from the search engines but if I double the footprints (doubling search time) and it results in 5% more targets that would make NHSEO seem like it is running at about half the speed of normal.
