Hi I clicked test threads and below are my results. The posting threads option recommends nothing above 20 but yet the test threads says I can use 80? Is that right? I have reduced the posting threads to 18 now despite the test saying use 80.. Is the test using the public proxies?

No it just tests the maximum amount of threads that your connection can sustain, it does not test capabilities of proxies or anything like that it is just for testing your connection. The suggestion in the pop up text does not say to set it to 20 or that 20 is the maximum advised it just says if you are unsure how many your connection can handle to set it to 20, however as you can see from the tester you should have no problems running with up to 70 or 80 without running into troubles. That is not to say you should be running at 70-80 or that you need to be near that amount just that that is the upper limit of what your connection can handle.

OK thanks. I have changed the posting threads to 45 now will see how that goes.

Since my reply yesterday and until now there has been 7 new verified links created.

Hi I think there is an issue when pinging verified links in NHSEO? I had 1200 verified links and now I have 0 after using the check links tab and action ping all verified links.. I did this with my proxies turned off because I recall you saying do that to avoid this..

No issues in testing. Are you sure your internet connection didn't crap out while you did the test or maybe that the proxies were still enabled (perhaps settings changed but not saved)?

EDIT: I just checked and currently the proxies are used when they are checked via the "Use Public Proxies" or "Use Private proxies" option as opposed to the "Link Checking" options as you might expect. This will be changed in the next update.

how do I get the verified links back or they are gone now?

I am always experimenting with PG as I can't find a setting that works well all the time it. I could really do with some help with this.. I made the interval 0 and it will work but then freeze/crash but it still produces new proxies when in this state.. I can't be doing something right if that happens though.

The links aren't gone, they just aren't saved as being verified/confirmed links in NHSEO. You can re-check all posts and the links should be found again, though whether this is worth the time it will take is up to you. Personally I very rarely do a link check unless it is for testing something as there is just little point to it.

As for PG I have no idea why it could be doing that, you could try asking their support. When I have used it in the past I always set the interval at 0 and don't remember having that problem.

isn't it worth checking links to see if some have been approved? is there a way of running a link check on another computer or would that mean DB would of be out of sync? couldn't you reimport the confirmed links into nhseo?

I have changed some settings again in NHSEO and PG and I am seeing confirmed links again. I have cranked up the searching threads to 10 before it was on like 1 or 2 not many so this could be why it was slow link building.. PG is now producing 60 proxies some are Google Verified and it seems to be working! Thanks!

You can check to see if any posts have been approved but it doesn't change the fact whether some have been approved or not, there is little if anything to gain from checking links and generally it just uses up time that could be spent posting so I don't do it mainly for that reason. The only reason I use the link checker is to check it is working.
