Feature Requests for No Hands SEO

Postby jimbobo2779 » Fri Apr 05, 2013 4:24 pm

Hey guys, I just thought I would post here to mention that I am really starting to make a push for multiple updates every week from this point on so I am going to be needing lots of feature requests from you guys to find out what it is that is on your mind regarding how NHSEO could be improved.

Obviously there is a features request section but if you do not have the desire to start a new thread for your feature request then you can post it here or in the comments section of this feature request blog post, also don't forget that I have sales threads on the Black Hat World and Warrior Forum websites so if you have an account on either of those websites you could post your requests in there instead if you would prefer. I will be checking all of these places regularly and implementing features as often as is possible.

I really want to get the updates rolling again as they did in the past and hope that you guys will have some great ideas for features. Also if you guys have a request for guides, I will be posting more guides to the guides section of the forum to help users get setup and run NHSEO to its best, so if you have always wondered the best way to accomplish something or how a setting works just let me know and I will do my best to get a guide whipped up for you.

I really look forward to hearing from you guys very soon.

Here's a quick feature request:

instead of having the old school status bar sliding from left to right at the bottom left corner of the window, how about just putting some useful stats there? Stuff like:

#threads in use
Total number of submitted links
Total number of verified links
Number of proxies in use/bad
captchas sent (with multiple services this would be required! I have to know if a certain platform is draining my bank account by DBC!)
CPU Usage
Memory Usage
# of platforms selected

The list is endless but, these are the ones I frequently thing about or have seen in other software - the old scrolling status bar is so... 19.....80's! ;)

keep up the good work Jim!

Just thought of another one!

Why not allow NHSEO to re-crawl a website on a schedule, either set by the user or at least have it recrawl for new pages/content once a week...

I have just compiled what I consider to be a tentatively comprehensive list of the things that I would like to get added in the coming weeks and months. Some are relatively minor things and others will be quite an undertaking and may take a little longer. I think I have added all things mentioned on the forum and other places that I could find and even added a lot of my own.

Obviously the main focus going forward is always going to be on maintaining the ease of use that No Hands SEO is known for but there are going to be some huge updates coming.

Excellent news!

Jimbobo,

Can I add one more possibility to your list?

Have a separate anchor text field for the sole purpose of blog commenting. I am getting a large number of complaints from blog owners about spammy comments. (my comment file was hand written and is very natural looking) The main complaint has been that they new it was spam because the name was "Click here" or "My target keyword" which is not a name, obviously.

I think having a spun name file to post to blogs would help in a number of ways:

1. Would reduce it's "spamminess" (I created that word but, feel free to use it ;) )
2. Would possibly pass Akismet easier (I hate that program!)
3. Would still help generic anchor text density, which is more important now than ever

I'm no programmer but, I wouldn't imagine it could be that difficult...

What are your thoughts?

Here's another idea for a feature request (and maybe it's there but, I can't find it)

Add a changelog or version history file so we know what you've been updating... kinda frustrating when I see an update like I did today:

I have version 2.0.10.0 and it's saying there is a "NEW" update and it's version is 2.0.1.0 - that seems backwards to me (shouldn't it have been 2.0.11.0 ?)... plus, I don't know what was updated or if it's worth updating at that moment...

*EDIT* - So it seems the only captcha service is now CS, and the "launch on start" option is gone... :?: :?: :?:

Changelog is already on the list of features to be added. Currently all updates are published to the No Hands SEO Blog.

Thanks for mentioning the strange versioning, this is because I mis-typed the update when I was setting it up so it downloaded version 2.0.1.0 instead of 2.0.11.0. I have corrected this now and hopefully it is the only time it ever happens.

someone's been working their tail off!

Quick question on the new comment system:

How natural do they look? Most often the spun comments in software don't make sense or are written with terrible English. Both of which just help to get them removed. If your's are not. I'll give it a try and delete my custom comments file and see how it works compared to my comments...
