Length of manually entered articles

Hi,

I have a spinner and what to create relevant articles to be posted by NHSEO

What is the optimal length for the articles that are posted ?

Would 400 words be OK ? or is 600 better ?

I am not sure that there is a perfect article length. I was reading a while ago about the average length of content ranking on the first page being 1000-2000 words, I don't think it was particularly scientific a test but there is a lot to suggest that there is no perfect length and possibly even that short 500 word articles that everyone looks for could be a little on the short side.

If you can simply choose the length I would go with 600 or higher though I cannot say categorically what would be the best just what I would do.
