Question about blocked site list

Sorry if this has been covered before.

Can somebody please explain why wordpress.com yahoo, etc are by default added to the blocked domain list. I see on the Log feed that many comments are being rejected from post to wordpress.com properties. Is there a reason for this? I would think it would be nice to have those links or is there something I'm missing? Would appreciate any input.

It is because these sites would never accept a post or they would accept the first 1 or 2 and then refuse further posts and remove existing posts when they find they are not posted manually. It is just far better to pass on them than waste lots of posting time in the long run on sites that will never host the links for more than an hour or two or never accept the post in the first place.
