new domain advice.. lots of questions!

Postby inquisitive_mind » Mon Jun 10, 2013 11:11 am

Hi I have started using NHSEO on a new domain and set up a website profile that points directly to it. The settings in place are currently -
captcha sniper x4.01 enabled
nohands indexer enabled
proxy goblin enabled and NHSEO continually updates from a file every 15min and uses the proxies for everything.

I have added 3 anchor text's which have low competition according to the google adwords keyword tool. One of the anchor text is actually the name of the domain which is what I really want to get onto page one and it should need little work?

The search keywords are all related to the anchor text used but when I review the confirmed blog comments they are being posted on sites irrelevant to the market. I need to work on spinner chief but I don't think it is free any more? I guess if my guess were related to my keywords I would get accepted on similar sites?

I capped the links at 100 a day but I have no idea what is right or wrong for a new domain? Can somebody recommend? It has been less than 24 hours and I have turned on and off NHSEO several times adjusting some settings so the limit is now above 100 as I think the timer is reset each time?

The website on the new domain is actually one long web page with a contact form at the bottom of the page so would you recommend adding a page to the existing nhseo profile for the url newdomain.com/#contact? Should I create landing pages like newdomain.com/keyword1/ or anotherdomain.com/keyword1/ and make nhseo profiles to rank these pages too? This is tier building?

The new domain also has social profiles linking to it from facebook.com/newdomain, instagram/newdomain, twitter/newdomain and youtube/newdomain. I have added the keywords and url to all these pages and when I post a video on youtube for example the URL and keywords are in the description box too.

I haven't bought any private proxies either I am just relying on proxy goblin and all the above at the moment. Is there anything else I can do or shouldn't be doing?

Lots of questions.. Hopefully somebody is kind enough to help me and assure me this isn't a waste of time please?

It is advised that you would be targeting more than just 3 keywords as search engines tend to be rewarding websites with a more diverse link profile. On top of this you can add more variation by using the generic anchor text controls to add more variation , note that these are cumulative so if you set them all at 10% it will affect 50% of your posted anchor texts. Also in your Profile Handler you can set different sets of anchor texts for different pages and categories of your website.

For search keywords you should use as many vaguely niche related keywords to get the most targets as possible. Note that NHSEO is not really in control of what the search engines return for different keywords just that it can use the search keywords to request pages that the search engine sees as being related. Once your original list of keywords has been searched NHSEO will extend this list by searching for related keywords to your original list, and then search with these and then extend these and so on. Once no more relevant keywords can be found NHSEO will pull trending keywords to get links from fresh recently updated websites. If you have run through all of your related keywords in less than a few days it is likely your proxy harvester may need tweaking to ensure it is only giving proxies that can be used with Google and/or Yahoo.

The link limit is reset whenever NHSEO is restarted but also it will create a job list by pulling 30 targets for whois posts and 30 targets for other link types and as such you can sometimes go over the limit by a few. Realistically going a few links over every day is not a big issue, especially when most of those links are likely to be whois links as they have limited ranking potential and are mainly used for indexing purposes.

I would advise if you only have a single page site to try and think of extra pages of content, micro niche sites and small landing page sites have become slightly harder to rank for so it can sometimes help to have extra pages providing the content is not the same. This is not a hard rule, for example nohandsseo.net is comfortably ranking on the first page of Google for the keyphrase "No Hands SEO" against 6.9million results and that website has only been online around a month. One of the biggest factors is anchor text variation, I have found recently even when promoting smaller sites it is important to have a very diverse link pattern.

You should enter in these linking profiles as a (or separate) multiple page profiles in the Add Profile tab so as to further promote them. You can use similar or the same anchor texts but use very different search keywords otherwise you will get lots of overlap in the link profiles, it may even be a good idea to not use particularly related keywords for searching.

That should get you started for now

Hi thanks for your reply!

Would you recommend creating a new page profile URL for the same domain but without www? This would make the link building pattern more diverse or does NHSEO already do this?

Would you recommend creating a landing page on the main domain like http://www.maindomain.com/landing_page and have a new page profile to this or in the profile handler of the main domain do I add a page inside the pages tab? What should be in the .txt just the URL? http://www.maindomain.com/landing_page?

Do I need private proxies? I don't like the idea of a monthly subscription especially since this SEO isn't paying off yet.

Right now my active profile has pretty much stopped building new verified links.. I am not sure what to do?

Could you have a look at the screenshot of what I have set up? I have also pasted a log below from NHSEO..

Image

The active website profile (ID 4) in the screenshot was building links regularly at the start but now they appear to have pretty much stopped. I have created custom comments inside the profile handler. I have increased the search keywords and has 7 different anchor texts in place. How many verified links would you expect NHSEO to build for each anchor entry? Is it possible to eventually have 7000 verified links? approx 1000 links per different anchor text?

The inactive profile in the screenshot is a squiddo page I created that links to the main site. Would you recommend running both profiles in tandem? The whois for page is 0 is this because whois are only added to website profiles?

From that log I would say you have bad proxies, Added 0 targets repeatedly is a sure sign of bad proxies, and looking at the screenshot of proxy goblin I can see you do not have it set to validate against Google.

As the proxies will be used for searching it is very important that the proxies can be used for searching therefore you need to set Proxy Goblin to check the proxies against Google.

I have now checked 'perform google verfication' and left it on unicode.

It has been about 17 hours since I implemented this change and only 1 verified link has been added. Is that right?

Do private proxies need to be bought?

No that is not normal at all. Are you sure that PG is still finding working proxies and that it is outputting them to the file that is being loaded in by NHSEO.

The log should highlight why most posts are failing, it will either be something like the bad words list which will be self explanatory or if its proxies you will see lots of "Page is down".

When I test the public proxies in NHSEO both the google and yahoo columns get ticks.. The .txt is getting updated by proxygoblin I can see it in the pg log and the windows explorer date modified column..

I have only got 2 bad words added and they don't pop up in the log that often. The most frequent is 'Added 0 targets'..

Have I missed something?

sorry to bother you but I have not found a solution yet and no verified links get added.. if they do it is one or two after a couple days.. here is an updated screenshot and log..

I don't understand why 900 odd verified links have been created and now they have just stopped?

What if I delete and readd the profile?

Deleting and re-adding the profile won't make any difference I am afraid, I would say it is more down to the proxies than anything else. As you can see when you did the proxy check in NHSEO more of them were not working than were working. You could try setting the interval in PG to less than 15 mins, really this should be set as low as possible so PG is constantly checking the current list of proxies to ensure that they are working for as long as possible.

Also you might want to reset the delay between searches back to 30000 as setting it lower than this can burn out proxies pretty quickly which would also lessen the amount of targets you can get.

Hi I have now made the pg interval 5min and nhseo delay between searches 30000. I have also adjusted the proxy load file delay 3000000.

Hopefully this will improve things. Thanks!
