Posting AA Lists

Postby stevegiles » Wed Dec 21, 2011 8:02 am

H Jim, Firstly thanks again for sorting out the refund. I am using v1.6.16.0 and after running
the initial 1257 whois to the 12 sites that I have on this program I have tried to add my AA
list of sites and have got the following error messages "Failed: Trackback No Links"or
" Failed: Blog Comment No Forms"

Is there any way that I can successfully use AA lists with this program.

Kind Regards,

Steve Giles

If the targets are compatible with NHSEO there is no reason you shouldn't be able to just add the list and post to it. If you are seeing an unexpectedly large amount of failed posts such as the ones mentioned above it is likely one of the following:
1) Bad proxies - pretty much all public proxies are unreliable
2) Bad AA lists - most public AA lists are now heavily spammed and as such the pages can time out due to too many comments and/or now have comments and trackbacks turned off
3) Incompatible AA lists - If the AA lists you are using are not aimed at wordpress comments, trackbacks or movabletype comments then they are most likely not compatible

If you believe the list is working I would be happy to take a look at it to see if there is a way to make NHSEO more suitable for your target lists though if you downloaded it from a forum it is most likely a bad list.

Are there any limits on how long a list nhSEO can scarf up? I've got a list about 300K lines long and when I browse to that file the filename itself disappears from the text box after about 3 seconds or so. If I go ahead and hit the Add Targets button I get a response about illegal characters and putting more than one URL on a line.

If I break that file up into small pieces - 10K lines - I find I'm having no problem.

Not that I have come across yet tbh. I know people have added 200k before BUT (that is a big but) make sure that the targets being added are compatible with NHSEO before adding the whole list.

First I would take a chunk of a few hundred targets from the top middle and bottom of the list (or any random sections of the list) and add these to make sure you are not adding 300k bad targets. Generally I do not like the use of AA lists as they are very often full of over spammed targets and/or no longer accepting comments/trackbacks. The quality of links from AA lists normally pales in insignificance to those you find yourself IMO.

Yeah, but us beggars can't be choosers. Overnight I ran nhSEO on a one page profile with some pretty good comments - something I'm doing well I think - against a10K targets taken from the top of a fairly fresh free AA list. 8 hrs later I had ~450 new links. Into Linklicious they went for a 3/day drip before I even had any caffeine this morning. I'll take that every day.

I stupidly added some public AA lists and the log is filled with Failed: blog comment no forms.

Is there anyway to clear the list back to default?

Currently there isn't a way to remove bad targets from a profile, this control is going to be part of one of the next two updates. Hopefully the list you added was just a small one.
