I don't fully understand how the NHSEO plugin in PG works to be honest and as such I would not really advise it as others have had issues getting it working even when it is seemingly setup correctly.

PG is a perfectly fine proxy harvester for use with NHSEO but i would definitely advise setting it up as explained in this guide as if done this way it will work. Also I am not sure what you mean by NHSEO disregarding proxies from proxy harvester, are you referring to the inbuilt proxy harvester option? If so I would leave this turned off as I have found no proxies works better than the proxies that get overused from this option, also the PG proxies should be fine.

If you are having bad success simply make sure that PG is checking that the proxies will work with your chosen search engine and that they are anonymous and you should have success.

Sorry for the delay in accepting your post, I forgot to check the post moderation queue for a few days, now you have a couple of posts that have been accepted you shouldn't have to wait for moderation for the post to go live. My bad on that one.

I replied to your email and showed where to find the functions mentioned in this post.

The steps mentioned in this post are meant for any decent proxy harvester and work just fine with Proxy Goblin, the required options and settings are probably simpler for PG than some others.

5000 working proxies will take an incredibly long time to harvest such that you will only be outputting a file every few days and by that time none of the earlier checked proxies will be working.

The thing with public proxies is you have to be realistic and realise that there are only ever so many working public proxies out in the wild and there are a lot of people trying to use them, so you have to take what you can get. Checking and outputting as often as possible will lower the amount of wasted searches due to bad proxies.

Calibrate Threads between NHS and Multiproxy / Proxygoblin

Postby ipprofis » Wed Jun 12, 2013 11:14 pm

If you have a good VPS wich can handle 100 + connections perhaps you should
give MultiProxy or ProxyGoblin time to harvest proxies first until the limit you set (f.e. 100)
before you start NHS. SO you start with 100 good proxies.

Another problem can be that NHS burns the proxies faster than Mutiproxy and Proxygoblin
can harvest. So may be you set your Proxy harvester to higher connections than NHS.

F.e. Multiproxy to 100 and NHS to 50 Threads.

So everytime you run out of proxies lower the posting threads in NHS and raise it in Multiproxy or ProxyGoblin
unless you have always a stable amount of proxies.

Hopes this helps that you never run out of proxies

Posting with the proxies won't burn them out. When I talk about burning out the proxies it is more in relation to being useful for searching, when you do too many searches in a small amount of time the proxies will get limited by the search engines and will not be useful for searching (burnt out).

Posting lots with small amounts of proxies shouldn't burn them out much quicker than not using them to be honest, just that it will slow them down. Other than that thanks for posting some advice, it may help others to see how you have got better results.

With number 2

2) Set it to harvest 50-100 working proxies before outputting to file (anything more will result in a huge delay between fresh proxies being sent to NHSEO)

Where is the settings for this in proxy goblin I cant find it :)

Thank You
