For the last 3 months I have been getting this message in my logs and subsequenly my links counter doesnt increase:-
"I would suggest you stop running for a while to attempt to get this temporary limit lifted before running again."
The first occurrence is about after 15mins of usage.
Where is this message coming from, how is it coming and what can I do about it?
Look forward to your replies.
David

The full message is 2 lines and the situation is exactly as it states, you have been temporarily prevented from searching in the stated search engine.
To lessen this you should ensure that you are using the Both option in the Search Providers box and that you are using just 1 Search thread and that the Search Delay is at least set to 60000 (60 seconds). These are all default settings and will prevent a majority of these occurrences.
Alternatively you could use proxies and never have this happen.

Tried your suggestions to no avail same message came up after 44 seconds.
It has been okay for the last two years until now.
So I am not sure how to do the proxies... any tutorial videos on this. I have tried public proxies ... without success.
Any ideas...?

If you had the message you will need to leave it till the temp ban was lifted. Only then should you carry on otherwise you will just get prevented from searching again. If you have a dynamic IP address with your internet connection (most common type) then you should be able to restart your router to get a new IP address and start again without this limit.
There are a few threads on this forum about proxies that may shed some light on them:
