Google Changes.

Hello Jimbob,

At the recommendation of my friend and the seemingly bad new changes that Google has made regarding the evaluation of backlinks I have stopped using No Hands SEO. Before I even stopped using NHSEO I saw a major drop in unique visitor traffic around March 1st. Which was right after Google made their changes.

I read this article which quotes Googles Press Release about changes.

"Google's announcement about the new backlink evaluation leaves much room for speculation:

"Link evaluation. We often use characteristics of links to help us figure out the topic of a linked page. We have changed the way in which we evaluate links; in particular, we are turning off a method of link analysis that we used for several years. We often rearchitect or turn off parts of our scoring in order to keep our system maintainable, clean and understandable."

Google does not go into more detail and it's hard to tell what the exact method of link analysis that they used for several years is. It's likely that they probably turned off a method that is abused by many spammers."

Please tell me what your thoughts are concerning this change and how it has affected your websites. ( I am asking everyone who reads this now ).

Google changes its algorithm all the time, last year there were around 5 "major" updates and yet SEO and backlinks remains as effective as ever. Rankings are dynamic and rarely stay in one spot for long, when new links are created to a website the rankings will fluctuate while Google determines where your website belongs in the SERPs.

All of this is very normal and there is nothing to suggest that this is any different from any of the other multiple algorithm updates. When I see people stating their positive results through all of these changes it just cements my ideas that links (like the ones generated via No Hands SEO) still and probably always will mean higher rankings.
