Proxies to threads ratio

Postby revekozu » Thu Jan 05, 2012 5:09 pm

I keep playing with number of threads running, multiple instances etc.

It's hard to gage what mix is most successful. I'm only using 10 private proxies from yourprivateproxy.

Just for the hell of it I'm trying running a single instance of nhseo now at 150 threads. Looks like my vps can handle that just fine, but I bet I'm at least temporarily burning my proxies. Or am I?

I was thinking about adding more proxies since I would really like to squeeze the most out of this tool. But at the same time don't want to throw money at it unnecessarily.

What indicators should I look for? At the moment it still is finding targets and keywords, I see nothing happening in captcha sniper, but I see little comment posting happening in the log as I watch it.

I guess I could change it to 75 threads and watch the log again to see if it appears to move faster... but that doesn't seem like a good measure, since it is pretty bursty.

I can check the proxies in scrapebox now and then as well to see how they are holding up while nhseo runs. (they tested fine and speedy just now)

My VPS is 5.20 GHz and 3 Gigs ram. I run other tools on this sporadically, but nhseo runs all the time.

The instance of NHSEO I'm running at the moment has 32 websites and just the single page each. No restrictions other than one post per domain. custom comments. It is using 50% cpu running 150 threads.

I'm curious to hear others experience and suggestions.

You could try asking the proxy provider for help. I asked mine and was told that my 4 shared proxies should be able to handle 50 threads.

Thanks for your post and keep us updated won't you?

I'm suspecting that the search provider may be the limiting factor as far as number of threads per proxy. I wonder what a simple way would be to test proxies with Bing? I think that is what nhseo uses.
