Best way to use Proxies at VPS?

Postby ipprofis » Fri Jun 07, 2013 12:59 pm

Hi,
i use NHS at my private Desktop and i does not have any Problems finding Proxies.
That may be cause my IP changes every day. Now i move to a VPS and there i get
much less proxies. So i guess that the proxies itself ban the VPS IP?

So my question is what is the best setup for running NHS at a VPS?
What should be done by private proxies, what can be done by public
and what can be done without proxies? I am pretty sure that the new
proxy options that can be fine tuned a lot.

I read that for NHS Private Proxies should be best but how much proxies for how much threads?
On the other hand SENuke f.e. suggest using HideMyAss. Would NHS run with HMA?
Even if it is a bit off topic HMA against Private Proxies i like to know what you think Jim
cause i really do not understand why SENuke suggest HMA over Private Proxies.

Thanks Michael

To be honest I have absolutely no idea why SENuke suggest HMA because no other SEO tool that I can think of would recommend them in place of proxies. For any tool that does searching (SEnuke doesn't do any searching so may be why they suggest HMA) HMA is not at all recommended. Private proxies are far more effective in almost all instances and I cannot actually think of an instance where HMA would be more beneficial. I don't dislike HMA for any reason, they have a decent enough service, just not for any tool that has some form of searching aspect to it.

The built in proxy harvester is never going to be really ideal as you are always going to be harvesting and using the same proxies that all other users are using so they will get burnt out very quickly, sadly there isn't a trick to get more working proxies or to make the found proxies last longer with the built in harvester as there are just too many people that think that they can run with 20 searching threads with these proxies and it burns them out too quickly.

For searching you only need proxies if you want to run more than 1 searching thread, if just using 1 you should be fine without proxies though obviously there is the chance you could get temporarily limited when not using proxies. If you limit by PR you will almost always need proxies as Google only allows so many PR requests per hour everything else is optional really. I always keep proxies for link checking disabled as most websites won't care what IP is loading a page and as such you are always getting a reliable link check. Personally I would use proxies for posting as it prevents complaints and doesn't leave an obvious trail of who left the link.
