Trial version not working very well

Postby Steverob1066 » Sat Nov 24, 2012 5:18 pm

After several hours of a backlink campaign for a Youtube video page I have only 2 confirmed backlinks. The app won't let me change the max number of threads. I get better results with webpages. Haven't changed anything after installing - any suggestions?

Thanks

If you have run for an hour or more with virtually no links produced then you very likely either have your allowed searching threads set to more than 1 without using proxies or the proxies you are using are bad.

If you are using public proxies I would remove them all and make sure that you have the "Allowed Searching Threads" set to 1 only.

Another thing that can limit number of links created is having your anchor texts more than 35 or 40 chars, most blogs will not accept anchor texts that long.

Not using proxies, 1 thread used for searching, and with a fresh start I have 16 confirmed links to my video after 4 hours. Anchor text has 28 characters. (Also, the total threads value can be highlighted but not changed from the default value of 15. I thought I thought I would reduce it because my intrenet connection is about 1.5Mb/s down, 300kb/s up.

28 character anchor texts is probably getting on the large size but different websites have different size limits so it could be having an effect.

15 threads really should tax any sort of broadband connection to be honest. I currently don't plan on updating the trial for the ability to change the number of threads as I am in the middle of some huge changes with NHSEO and preparing for the release of V2.

My advice would be to try out with some variations of you anchor text, play around with the Text Rewriter(right click on spinnable form controls), with spinning to see if that helps improve things. You should take a look in the log also, if posts are failing for a common reason it should become more apparent by what is output to the log.

OK - thanks - will try that. (Maybe I missed it but I wasn't aware that the trial version doesn't allow you to change the number of threads. I was thinking there was a problem with the installation. If I did miss it, apologies, but if not, can I suggest you put a statement somewhere obvious about the limitations of the trial version? )

OK - running now with shorter anchor text, checked spinning and it seems OK. I'm using the default .txt file for comments so haven't played with that. Result is loads and loads of errors like this "posted {wordpress|plogger|and so on} link unsuccessful to: blah blah. I checked some of the links and they seem capable of taking comments so don't know what to do next. What failure rate would you expect on posting blog comments and links?

On pages that would accept comments I would expect the failure rate to be very low and not really noticeable. It could be that your connection genuinely is not capable of sustaining 15 threads and that is resulting in a large amount of unsuccessful posts.

I will be releasing v2 of NHSEO next week (reason there have not been any updates for almost 2 weeks now) and this will reset trial versions for all as well as allow users to lower/increase number of threads so if you are not getting any links after running for an hour or so it may just be the case that you will be better off waiting for the release of v2 and using that to test it out. From my internal tests I can see that v2 is generating somewhere between 5 and 20x as many links in the same time than v1, the difference really is night and day.
