Proxy Searching

Postby mccullek » Wed Feb 08, 2012 6:02 pm

Well, just when I thought all was good, now I'm not sure Jim? I started a run this morning and the software has spent the past 15 mins searching for proxy's and can't seem to ever get started searching and posting. I'm gonna let it keep going and will post more results when I can, but so far, it seems to be stuck searching for and unable to find proxys? Actually, just as I finished this, it finally started posting.

Is it normal for it to take that long to find proxys? Seems it took about 15 mins. Also, my captcha sniper is working great, so there doesn't seem to be an issue with captcha sniper, although I never did the update either since it's a beta update at this point.

It depends on how many threads you have running. If you have 1 thread it could take ages if you run at 15 threads it could take 10-20minutes depending on how many proxies are harvested from the sources. Subsequent searches for proxies will take less and less time as more proxies are accumulated.

NHSEO will retain the working proxies and check them before searching for more so the searching process won't have to find as many proxies.

Jim, what do you recommend in regards to the settings for max threads and searching threads? I do have my searching threads set at 1, as I thought slowing it down would be a positive, but sounds like I've got that one wrong?

I also have my searching thread at 1, using private proxies and thought i wouldn't burn them out so fast.

Running at 1 or 2 searching threads is advised when using the proxy harvester, I am actually considering capping it at 2 when proxy harvester is enabled to prevent burning out the proxies.
