Private proxy use & Proxy harvester

Postby humboldt » Thu Apr 05, 2012 4:40 am

Hi ,

I am using private proxies, how can I tell if they are actually being used by NHSEO ?
If I tick "Proxy Harvester", does this act as a backup to my private proxies, or must I untick this, for my private proxies to work.

When I first started NHSEO, it said something like "Using xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx" which was my IP address, not one of my proxies.

Hope someone can help!

If you are using private proxies you should not use the proxy harvester as you are essentially wasting time looking for public proxies and checking them when you could be searching and posting. When the lower status bar in NHSEO says working with XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX that is the IP address that is being used to check, i.e. your IP address. This message does not pop up when using private proxies alone.

I'm using private proxies and it still shows my IP, what you're saying is that it should show the proxy IP right?

The only time NHSEO will show any IP address (other than in the proxy settings tab) is when it is checking proxies it has harvested. If you are running with private proxies you shouldn't use the proxy harvester
