I think you may want to check out this thread from quite a while ago, the poster mentioned about some really high PR links he had been receiving, that was at a time when there are around 10 different platforms. Now there are 45 different platforms that No Hands SEO can post to and as such there are now far different types of links (forum, blog, trackbacks, image galleries, guestbooks) including platforms that are only dofollow.

No Hands SEO can be used to generate many types of links, including only dofollow with high PR if that is what you would prefer so yes the links can definitely be very effective for improving your search rankings and traffic.
