Duplicate entries in Log

I currently have over 10,000 entries in the Pinger.

Looking in the Log itself, it shows that it is pinging URLs with many of them showing more than once.

Any ideas what has gone wrong?

It is pinging them to different services. Each page is sent to a number of different ping services and each item in the log is a different service.

It isn't repeating the same jobs.

No, there are 78 pinging services. You can remove some if you don't want to ping them all.

All services are freely editable in the Settings tab.

Within the Indexer i had maximum posts set 0. This was generating way too many links and these were also getting passed to the Pinger. I had the checkbox set to DOFOLLOW links only but still it was a high number getting passed to it.

Seems better now with that parameter set to 100.
