The truth is when people get their websites banned from a search engine they are quick to blame the tools and methods they have been using to do SEO and backlinking on the site when in actuality it is normally the content on the website. If your website content is spammy, makes no sense or is duplicated from another website the content is not desirable and will be deindexed, this has nothing to do with backlinks.
If you make sure the website is clean of spam and has at least some unique content the likelihood of getting deindexed is very small.
